splurge/steal: blending sponge!

i've used liquid foundation for a long time and i've tried a variety of methods of applying it. my preference? a blending sponge! i couldn't bring myself to spend $20 on the beautyblender, so thanks to a tip from meg, i picked up the sonia kashuk version at target. i've been using it for several months now and i LOVE IT. last week, i came across a nearly identical sponge for half the price through avon. i believe there is also one at ulta for about $5 too! the stippling method you use with these sponges blends makeup easily while eliminating visible lines and streaks. if you use liquid foundation, you should give one of these sponges a shot!

3. Avon Precision Grip Teardrop Blender $4.99

have you ever used a blending sponge?

I'll even use a blending sponge to just apply a BB cream. I have one from Sephora, but I definitely have to scope out this less expensive versions.

Love my blending sponge! I definitely think the key is using it damp! Thanks for the shout out, friend!

I got the pink one from Birchbox last month and absolutely love it! I definitely wouldn't have paid that much for it, but honestly, I think it is so worth it. I will be checking out Avon's when it is time for another one. Thanks for the info!

I've never used one....do you apply the foundation on the sponge itself, or swipe the sponge over a foundationed-face?

I am trying this out - thanks for all your great tips!!!

I have the Beauty Blender, which I got in one of my Birchboxes. I love it, but haven't been able to force myself to pay $20 for another one. I'll check out the one at Ulta, thanks!

I started using the Beauty Blender several months back and LOVE it! And this post is perfect timing because it's time to get a new one and I am sooooo heading to Ulta for the steal! The sponges work great with mineral foundation too! Thanks for the heads-up, lovey!

I love the BeautyBlender, and I think the dupes are great if you have oily or combination skin. But, if you have crazy dry skin like mine then the softness of the BeautyBlender really helps!

I'm loving your Photoshop skills in this post! So cute!

Thanks for posting about the less expensive options for these sponges. I love by BeautyBlender, but there's no way I'm paying full price for the 'ish!

I don't know what I'd do without you and Meg - my beauty gurus! I will definitely have to get one of these sponges!

Does nobody else think this looks like a butt plug? That alone would deter me from using it. I can't have butt plug looking things on or near my face. I just can't. ;)

I've been using regular sponges but these look fun enough to try! :)

I've never used a sponge, and I swore to myself after meg's post that i was going to, and I still haven't. Maybe now I'll just do it because if I don't you'll probably beat me.

:)

Miss your face.

I'm so bad. I just use my hands! I know that's bad and I even have sponges and nice brushes, yet I never use them :(

I just use regular blending sponges that come 30 to a pack. I never get streaks or anything and everyone always is amazed. I can't justify getting one off these sponges until I don't like the cheap ones anymore. I've heard nothing but good things about them tho.

Meg said something about using them damp? Does she mean dipping them in water first? I'm confused... I'm so makeup illiterate. Lol

These seem pretty neat though. I just blend my foundation with my hand. Probably not good at all... but I don't know any better. lol I need a makeup tutor.

I thought sponges just soaked up too much of the foundation?? I use a brush.
