birchbox brag! (october 2012 box)

today's the day for you to come link up and show us what you got in your birchbox this month!
shout-out to my fab co-host, katie!

in case you've never heard of birchbox, the whole premise is that you pay $10/month and birchbox will send you 4-5 deluxe samples based on the beauty profile you fill out when you sign up.

here's what i got in my october box:
the details:
(descriptions taken from the birchbox website)
This super serum attacks your skin’s appearance with a two-pronged strategy. First, light-refracting microparticles in the colored swirl immediately fill pores and wrinkles for a smoother overall look. Second, vitamins B3, B5, E, glycerin and advanced amino peptides in the translucent gel hydrate and regenerate the skin’s surface — all within the first week of use.

EVE LOM Cleanser
The herbal-smelling balm features four essential oils—chamomile, eucalyptus, hops, and clove—that work in conjunction to rid your skin of all forms of gunk. An infusion of cocoa butter adds moisture and softness. Together with the muslin cloth, the cleanser will lead to brighter-toned, more even skin over time. After all, who says you can’t achieve an English rose complexion if you live stateside?

EVE LOM Muslin Cloth
Made of pure cotton, each cloth packs plenty of exfoliating power yet won’t irritate your skin. If you use it regularly, you can feel free to skip the chemical peels and harsh scrubs.

amika Obliphica Nourishing Mask
Sourced from rare sea buckthorn berries, Obliphica oil is a wonder ingredient rich in natural vitamins and omega acids that sink into each follicle, repairing any signs of heat and styling damage. Vitamin C adds brightness and shine. Plus, the formula is completely free of parabens and sulfates.

LUNA Bar
Made with 70 percent organic ingredients, LUNA Bars are full of calcium, folic acid, iron, and vitamins D—nutrients women need on a daily basis. Each bar is also a good source of protein and fiber, so you’ll feel satisfied post-snack and be less likely to reach for that bag of chips.

Chantecaille Faux Cils Mascara
Each sleek wand is filled with a unique formula designed to be extra-durable. Natural waxes add thickness and curl to your lashes, while red seaweed extract increases the length of each lash. The dense bristle brush makes it easy to pile on the layers.

first of all, i want to take a moment to slow clap for birchbox and the fact that i did not get a perfume sample in my box. THANK YOU! ok, now let's get down to business. i was unsure about opting in for the goop box, but i did it anyways in hopes of it being super awesome like the teen vogue box. though it was not as good as the teen vogue box, it was pretty good and i'm happy with my box. i loved sampling these great products! i am totally in love with the hair mask. the ddf pore minimizer is great too. love the mascara. the cleanser is nice. the only thing i didn't like was the luna bar. the problem is that all these items are extremely expensive in full size. i'm normally not opposed to paying a pretty penny for good products, but these prices are way more than i'd be willing to spend. $50 cleanser? no way! $42 mascara? absolutely not. $85 pore minimizer? no thank you. so even though i like the products, i'd most likely never splurge on them in full size.

Yeah...yours was WAY better than mine! I did get a DDF Cleanser a few months ago & have been hoping for more DDF since then. I would never buy any of it at those prices either, but it is still nice to try it. : )

Love the slow clap comment! I thought the same thing ;) I agree, all of my products full size were real expensive as well - well not the nail polish or lip balm, but the other items were. $85 for face goop, um, not thanks!

Wow that is a great box, most people I've talked to this month have been really disappointed. I was happy with mine too though.

That is insane how expensive those products are!! But it looks like a great box! I'm so mad at birchbox right now. My box has still not made it to my house, even after getting a shipping notification email on October 10!

I got the goop box too and got a completely different box. Have to say it was one of my least favs except for the nice size facial cleanser. I got the hair mask a few boxes back and loved it!

I opted in for Goop as well but our boxes are totally different. I was unimpressed, like I usually am with Birchbox.

I won a free year subscription that is up in 3 more months. Once it's over I won't renew.

I don't understand how anyone can like those "energy" or "protein" bars. Every single one I have had was gross.

I need to find someone to give me a sample of that pore minimizer!! Want send it over to me?? ;)

I've gotten the DDF pore minimizer as a sample at Sephora (maybe it was a 100 point gift, actually) and I really liked it. But I'm with you--HECK NO on the full-size prices.

I got the goop box too but I didn't get anything you got. I did get a DDF cleanser but I haven't tried it yet. The muslin cloth thing sounds interesting. I got tea instead of the luna bar. I don't drink tea.

Wow those are pricey items. My items weren't that expensive. That hair mask sounds lovely! I'm intrigued by the L'Oreal one in the Target beauty bag.

You got a WAY better box then me! But I agree with you on the prices, one of the things I got in my box I love but would NEVER pay that much for it!
